To Our Lovely Staff
Hi, my name is Shelley. I am a wife, mother and recently became a grandma. I love being a grandma. I'm also a breast cancer survivor. I have worked full time for the City of Kearney as a Risk Management Coordinator for the last 7 years, which working part time for The Rustic Patch. After my battle with cancer and becoming grandma, my priorities have changed. My new role will be manager at The Rustic Patch. Sonya and I have a special bond as cousins and as wonderful friends and working side by side with her and Mark will be great!
Hello! I am a student here at the Universty of Nebraska at Kearney and I am majoring in elementary education. I work well with people and am very creative which makes me a perfect fit. I can’t wait to help you fill your homes with all of our country warmth!
Hi y'all, I'm Kenzie! I'm a student at UNK double majoring in Elementary & Special Education. I've been working here since September of 2018. My hometown is Grand Island & I've grown up in the country which is what drew me to The Rustic Patch
I’m a gal that loves to be outside whether that is camping, boating, or golfing. I love being around people and making new friends. I also love to travel....Mexico mainly. Our favorite vacation spot is Puerto Vallarta. I work full time at UNK and part time here at the Rustic Patch and also Chug a Lug. I recently got engaged to a wonderful man, Randy Best, whom I adore.
Hello! My name is Deb Kennedy and I am so happy to be a “floater” for Sonya and Mark at the Patch – both Kearney & Broken Bow. I first met Sonya when I stopped in her shop around 12 years ago looking for a part-time job. We soon figured out we were soul sisters and have been besties ever since. Mark was a grade ahead of me growing up and really is that older brother/best friend I didn’t know I even needed! My days are pretty busy with my full-time job and side gig baking cupcakes, cookies, candies, etc but I have discovered in the last couple years I really love to travel – especially if those travels take me to Germany! I hosted an exchange student, Nadine (nearly 20 years ago) who filled up my Momma heart. The blessing of going to Germany for her wedding to Patrick was one of the greatest experiences of my life and I am busy planning the next adventure with my kids! Speaking of kids, my Border Collie, Gracie Mae, definitely keeps me on the move and fills my life with so much joy. Any spare time I have I spend with my momma & daddy or with some of the best friends a gal could be blessed with. And if you ever see a crazy lady pulled off the road taking photos anywhere near Broken Bow that is probably me taking pics of sunsets, clouds, flowers, critters, trees, windmills – all of those things that bless my heart. Can’t wait to welcome you when I am needed to fill in and share that Rustic Patch warmth with you.
